Quartzite is located in direct proximity to the Madneuli mine. During the mining of copper ore at Madneuli, gold-bearing quartzite ore was stockpiled, with recovery of gold and silver from the ore starting in 1997. At Quartzite, gold and silver oxide stockpiles are reclaimed through a cyanide heap leach process of Madneuli’s low grade oxide quartzite ore. Facilities include a gold processing plant and a crushing/screening plant.
