Geopromining Sponsors Georgian National Rugby Team

GeoProMining (“GPM” or the “Company”), a diversified international mining group, is pleased to announce that its Georgian asset Quartzite continues to be the general sponsor of the Georgian national rugby team. GeoProMining supports sports and promotes healthy living for young people as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme ‘Resources for Good’. The Georgian Rugby Union is ranked 14th in the world, according to the International Rugby Board. It won its first game in the 2011 World Cup played against the world’s highest ranking teams in its 3rd championship. The Georgian Rugby Union got a 4th place in the B group.

GPM has been playing an active role in developing rugby in Georgia through supporting the activities of the Georgian Rugby Union for the past four years and is committed to continue its support till 2015. Financing of Rugby Team is mainly directed to develop training facilities and promote the development of Rugby in Georgia. Part of the donation is allocated to the construction of training facility for the national team. The state provided land while GPM funds were directed to the construction of a stadium and living premises, which are expected to be completed at the end of 2012. It was with the help of GeoProMining that the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy (http://www.irb.com/jwrt/index.html) was held in Georgia in June 2011.
