GeoProMining develops cultural ties between Russia and Armenia

21 September 2013, Yerevan

GeoProMining, a diversified international mining group (GPM or the Company), together with the Armenian Ministry of Culture has organized a concert by young Russian pianist Eduard Kunz. On September 21 – The Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia – Eduard Kunz performed with the Armenian State Philharmonic Orchestra under the guidance of conductor and artistic director Eduard Topchan at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan. GeoProMining actively supports cultural projects as part of its social corporate responsibility programme Resources for Good.

The concert began with the national anthem of Armenia and included world classics and music by prominent Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian. GeoProMining prepared an intensive agenda for the world famous artist: in addition to the gala concert Eduard Kunz held a master class for students of the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan. The pianist was excited both to perform for the sophisticated audience of music admirers and share his professional secrets with the young musicians.

“GeoProMining is pleased to present such a wonderful gift to the Armenian music admirers on the Independence Day. We welcomed high-level guests from all over the country and Europe. We are glad to contribute to strengthening partnership and friendship between Russia and Armenia in all the aspects – business, education and culture. We are confident that responsible approach to its social mission is a key element of the company’s overall success,” said Siman Povarenkin, Chairman of GeoProMining Group.

GeoProMining traditionally supports development of cultural ties between Russia and Armenia. For instance, the company provides funding for the Stanislavsky Russian Drama Theatre in Yerevan, which is a popular stage for performances by Russian and Armenian playwriters. GeoProMining also promotes the use of the Russian language in Armenia.
